What a great St. Mark’s Fall Carnival! It was exciting to see so many preschool families attend.  We would like to thank all of the parents who donated items and those who volunteered to help with the carnival.  Thanks to all families who came to the carnival.  See you next year!

 

  • The themes for November will be: Family, Fruit, Vegetables, Thanksgiving, and Advent.
  • Colors for the month are purple and brown
  • Shapes for November are the circle and triangle

 

 

During the month we will be concentrating on food, nutrition, and the meaning of being “thankful.” The children will be involved in learning about healthy foods and will have fun doing projects that increase their awareness of healthy food.

To celebrate the meaning of Thanksgiving, there will be a special chapel program on Wednesday, November 20that 9:30am in the church. The children will prepare a special snack to share after the program.

 

 

FOOD DRIVE

We will be asking all the children to bring in non-perishable food items to donate to the local food bank.  Let’s help the kids to understand being thankful by sharing with others.  Items most needed for the pantry are peanut butter, tuna, cereal, pastas, pasta sauces, and canned vegetables. We ask that the children bring in their food donations on Monday and Tuesday November 18th and 19th. Every child that brings at least three food items will be entered into a raffle to win $30 to spend for Scholastic Book orders.

 

 

 

 

 

THANKSGIVING CHAPEL PROGRAM

Parents and guests are invited to attend the chapel program on Wednesday, November 20th at 9:30am in the church. The children will dress in their Sunday best and will sing special Thanksgiving songs. After the program, everyone is invited to the preschool for a special snack of pumpkin bread and homemade butter.

 

“STONE SOUP”– NOVEMEBER 22nd

A favorite fairy tale is read to the children during the morning program.  The children will help chop vegetables to make the soup.  The children will eat lunch around 12:00am.  Those students that usually go home before lunch are welcome to stay for lunch to enjoy the soup they helped prepare, no extra charge.  

 

PARENT REMINDERS:

All children who stay for nap need a blanket and a crib sheet. Please remember to take home and launder on Fridays and return on Mondays. Make sure your child’s  bedding is in either a zippered bag or a bag with drawstrings. Please check your child’s cubby to make sure that they have weather appropriate extra clothing.

 

ILLNESS:

PLEASE, for the health of your child and others, do not send your child to school when he/she is ill.  If a child has a contagious illness, pleasephone immediately.  After a child has been absent from school due to illness for three or more days, or has symptoms of a contagious illness a doctor release is required in writing for re-admittance to school.  A child attending school must be well enough to participate in all activities both inside and outside.  Prescription medicine must have the child’s name on the bottle and the parent will have to fill out the medication release form with directions for the staff regarding the amount to be given and the time.  The school will not provide anyone with aspirin or other fever reducing medication. 

 

FEVER, DIARRHEA, and VOMITING-MUST BE GONE 24 HOURS BEFORE CHILD CAN RETURN TO SCHOOL.
