Semester 2 Return POSTPONED
St. Mark’s Families,
I’m reaching out today to inform you of an important decision that our school administration has made with respect to our return in January. Please be advised that the start of the second semester will be postponed to Monday, January 10th. This will pertain to K-8, Pre School, Day Care and ALL sports/extra-curricular activities. The school’s main office will also be closed thus tuition payments will have an extended deadline of Friday, January 14th, 2022.
We have made this decision out of an abundance of caution, with the intention of keeping our students, staff and families safe and healthy. As you are aware, the Covid case counts in Los Angeles and surrounding counties have been increasing significantly the past few weeks. We know that the holiday season brings with it a need for all of us to connect with our families and friends. Given the sacrifices that have been made over the past 21 months, it's understandable that many of us have chosen to celebrate with loved ones in-person, indoors and with mixed households.
Additionally, I’d like to point out that we are aware that the CDC has updated their guidance for mandatory quarantines and case management. We intend to continue following the protocols set for us by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health and the state of California. We will inform families if there are any changes to the protocols that we currently follow.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation regarding these changes to the start of the second semester. We want to do everything we can to maintain in-person schooling while prioritizing the health and safety of our students and their families. When we all gather on January 10th, we will be relying on parents and guardians to ensure that students are not coming to school if they feel ill.
