TUITION

January tuition is now past due. A $15 late fee has been added to all late payments. We accept checks, cash and online bill pay through your bank.

 

SML IN-PERSON LEARNING K-2ND GRADE

K-2nd grade in-person learning will resume back Monday, February 1st, 2021.  We look forward to seeing all our K-2nd graders.

 

MENTAL HEALTH ASSISTANCE

It's no secret that mental health issues have increased during this awful pandemic. We have a St. Mark’s alumni parent, Colleen Ohlman, who is working at Life Focus Center.  She is a therapist, specializing in mental health in children, teens and young adults.  Colleen is offering her expertise to help anyone that may need assistance with coping with the pandemic these last 10 months.  For those seeking assistance, please visit the website for more information.  https://lifefocuscenter.com/

 

SML ANNUAL 1ST SEMESTER AWARDS

Although we were not able to host our annual 1st Semester Awards Assembly, we still wanted to acknowledge our SML Lions for their efforts in Academic Achievements, putting their Best Paw Forward, and displaying Lion’s Faith while attending our Lion’s Learning Den. Please give a big Roar On to all of our students and their successes. We want to give a heartfelt THANK YOU to Panda Express, Rubio’s Coastal Grill, In-N-Out Burger, Islands, and BJ’s for graciously providing the award certificates for our students! If your child received an award, you are welcome to pick it up during your next visit to our School Office any time after February 1, 2021.  Please see the attachment for all names of those students who received an award.

SML PICTURE DAY FOR K-8TH GRADE HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED

Picture day for K-8th grade is now scheduled for Thursday, March 18, 2021.

 

2020 AMC 8 (AMERICAN MATHEMATICS COMPETITION) RESULTS

AMC 8 is a worldwide competition where over 100,000 students compete annually.  Nine SML 8th graders participated in AMC 8 competition on November 14, 2020: Isabella Bran, Juliano Arana, Seth Guerrero, Raymond Jiang, John Lugo, Anaisa Mota-Ramirez, Nathanael Pereda, Kayleigh Winsor, Alexander Yang.  Top scorers are: Anaisa Mota-Ramirez and Nathanael Pereda tied in the first place, Alexander Yang in the second place, and John Lugo in the third place.  Congratulations to all Mathletes!

 

SCHOOL SPELLING BEE DATE CHANGE

Due to the increase in COVID positivity cases for LA County and for the safety of our participants and everyone involved in the bee, the School Spelling Bee previously scheduled for January 16, 2021 has been rescheduled. This event will now take place on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at 9:00 am in the school Gym. The Saturday competition in the school Gym is for the top five spellers in the 4th through 8th Grades. The attendees are limited to the 25 participants, the judges, and no more than two family members per participant. Should the regional Scripps Spelling Bee take place in March 2021, the winner and his/her family will make the decision as to whether or not to attend that event.

 

TAX LETTERS/FLEX SPENDING

If you will be needing a summary of fees for tax purposes or for your flex spending account, please be sure to call the School Office or e-mail Ms. Tammy at tperez@stmarks.ws.  If you are e-mailing, please include your student's name and whether you want the letter mailed or e-mailed.  Allow up to two (2) weeks for the letter to be completed.

 

FAMILIES WHO TRAVEL OUTSIDE OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA REGION

All SML families who travel out of the state or southern California region must notify the school office.  The current regulations for travel are a mandatory 10 days quarantine upon arrival back home.

 

7TH GRADE CATALINA MEETING

The 7th Grade Catalina Trip Meeting scheduled for January 12th has been postponed; date and time to be

6TH EL CAMINO PINES FIELD TRIP

Dear 6th Grade Parents/Guardians, the field trip for 6th grade to El Camino Pines has been moved from February 22-26, 2021 to March 22-26, 2021.

 

5TH GRADE SACRAMENTO/SAN FRANCISCO TRIP

Dear 5th Grade Parents/Guardians, we are excited to announce our 5th grade trip to Sacramento/San Francisco that will take place on Thursday, May 13 – Friday, May 14, 2021.  St. Mark’s has partnered with WorldStrides. LION’S LEARNING DEN / TECHNOLOGY QUESTIONS

Parents, we realize there will be questions about live stream learning for your children. Please contact us at itsupport@stmarks.ws if you have technology-related questions. Please include your name and your child’s name and grade. You may have questions about logging in, connections, or joining a meeting. Students residing within the Fullerton Joint Union High School District and who are entering the 9th Grade during the 2021-2022 year, have an opportunity to attend another District high school other than the school of residence.
