Please remember that every Wednesday a chapel offering is collected. Our chapel offering is used to support Lutheran Social Services, Navajo Lutheran Missions, Child Fund International and our local Action Food Pantry. Please consider contributing to these worthy causes through supporting our chapel offering. Thank you.
On behalf of St. Mark’s Lutheran School, I extend this note of gratitude. We are grateful for the Auction Team parents, Glory Hammes, Kathy Lim, and Winnie Lim Takesue. The 30th Annual Silent Auction was a resounding success due to the countless hours spent on bringing our auction back to our campus. Glory, Kathy, and Winnie organized gift donations from the homerooms and outside donors, sold raffle tickets early in the morning, sold event tickets online, organized our 8th Grade volunteers (a huge help!) and fine-tuned the Auction along the way. The Auction Team thought of new ways to raise money by adding the “Fund-A-Need” to the Live Auction, moving the All-Star basketball and volleyball games to the Live Auction, and adding a lively ice-breaker game, “Heads or Tails” before the Live Auction bidding began. Parents Carrie Purunjian and Tiffany Arias transformed the Gym into a beautiful party venue for the evening with lighting and flowers. Christopher Birtja patiently waited for sponsors’ advertisements to arrive so that he could artfully create the printed program. We’ve relied on Chris and Christine Birtja to provide tech assistance at registration each year along with parent, Luis Rodriguez. We appreciate every small and large task taken on by many parents leading up to the auction. Our Auction became a reality only because of our dedicated parents. Thank you.
A SPECIAL NOTE OF THANKS FROM THE AUCTION TEAM
Thank you to parents, families, teachers, staff, spouses and our beloved 8th grade ushers for your support of St. Mark’s and our 30th Annual Silent Auction. We want to especially thank our Room Parents for record attendance for this event. Special thanks to Valley Vista Services and the Perez Family, the Rivera Family, the Pont Family, and the Machado Family for their generous support.

UPCOMING FOOD DRIVE – WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 14TH & RELAXED DRESS DAY
Every student who brings in a minimum of three (3) food items may come to school next week in Relaxed Dress on Wednesday, November 14th. This is our chance as a community to help people in need. What do we need the most? First, check the expiration dates. Secondly, do not choose anything in a glass jar because we cannot accept those donations. Super important. Then, we need cereal, canned tuna, canned meats, refried pinto beans, spaghetti sauce, canned vegetables, peanut butter and dry pasta.
Parents, do you need Family Commitment Hours? We need drivers to the Action Food Pantry in West Covina that day. You too can have relaxed dress! Just kidding. We do need help so please call the School Office to volunteer as a driver.
