SML Parents and Guardians, please bring in your completed Enrollment Forms for the 2019-2020 school year. The forms were sent to you via email. Here is what you must submit:
1. The Enrollment Application per student
2. The Signed Approval and Pledge of Parents per student
3. Helpful Student Information per student
4. Church Information Form per family
5. The $150 Enrollment Fee per student
6. The $150 Family Commitment Fee per family

Take advantage of the lower tuition rate enroll this week and secure your child’s spot for next year.
Tuition rates go up on March 11th.


Our school tours for the 2019-2020 school year have begun. If you have any friends interested in SML, please have them contact the School Office to set up a tour appointment.


A special note of thanks to all our school parents who participated in the Staff Tea. Under the leadership of Ruth
Flamenco and Tanya Yee co-chairs, parents decorated and set-up on Sunday and Monday, prepared and served so
many delicious items for our luncheon, they watched the students during lunch recess and cleaned up.
The staff loved the SML Bento Lunch Boxes and the raffle prizes were fun.
Thank you again parents for all your hard work and dedication to SML.

SPIRIT WEEK March 4th – March 8th

The following days have been chosen by student council and approved by Dr. Clark.
Wednesday: Character Day (No weapons or masks allowed)
Thursday: Retro Day (any decade you choose)
Friday: Game Day (Red/White Day) + JH Dance 1-3pm

*Winning GRADE LEVEL wins ice-cream
*SABOTAGE WEDNESDAY March 6th : Room #9 @ lunch
(place silver coins and bills in other grade level containers)
Students may also earn points during Spirit Week by bringing in a bag of individually wrapped candy
(NO BLOW POPS or BUBLE GUM) to their classroom. The candy will be used on Friday in the “candy room”.


Our next Booster Meeting is this Thursday, March 7th at 8:30 AM. Get a school update for 2019 - enjoy coffee and morning pastries. You may also purchase low-cost, Gently-Used Uniforms at the meeting. Each Parent receives one Family Commitment hour for attending.

8th: Justin-Sulivan Pascual and Jeff Sun tied in the first place. Brett Brzycki placed in the third place.
7th: Matthew Aceves placed in the first place. Kasey Lee and Sonia Bhatia tied in the second place.
6th: John Lugo and Nathanael Pereda tied in the first place. Alexander Yang and William Zhang tied in the third place.

Next Monday, March 11, “The Addams Family” tickets go on sale at 6:00 a.m. in the Fireside Room and online at When purchasing tickets on campus, you may pay with cash or check. Online purchases
require a credit/debit card and include a surcharge fee for each ticket. General bleacher seats are $8, while reserved
floor seats are $12. Show dates and times are Wednesday, March 27 at 1:00, Thursday, March 28 at 1:00, Friday,
March 29 at 7:00 P.M., Saturday, March 30 at 7:00 P.M., and Sunday, March 31 at 2:00 P.M. Tickets will be available
for purchase before and after school, during the day in the school office, and anytime online. Please invite friends and
amily to come and see this production. The Cast and Crew are putting in a tremendous amount of work on the show,
and the finished product promises to be fantastic. Come “join the family” with the St. Mark’s Youth Theatre!

Help your class WIN the Drama Classroom Competition!
“The Addams Family” classroom competition takes place on Wednesday, March 27!!! A few t-shirts, sweatshirts, and tote bags are still available to purchase in the office! Make sure that you wear your 2019 drama gear as we'll see which class has the highest percentage of students wearing "The Addams Family" t-shirts, sweatshirts, and tote bags. The K-4th and 5th-8th classes with the most participation will win front row seats for the matinee shows on Wednesday, March 27 and Thursday, March 28. Thank you for your support of the St. Mark's Youth Theatre!

"DINO-MITE BOOK FAIR: Stomp, Chomp, and Read!" is the theme for the upcoming Scholastic Book Fair to be held in the library April 1-10. It will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and from 7:00-8:30 p.m. during Open House on Tuesday, April 9. If you would like to volunteer at the book fair, please email Ms. Demers at: and she will send you the schedule.


Today the In N Out lunch truck was at SML, serving lunch to K-8th Grade students and staff. The lines were long but the students enjoyed the wait. Thank you to Tina Viveros, Debbie Grushka, Yvonne Aceves, Rania Rizk and Adriana Gallardo for helping keep the students in the correct burger lines.


This year, auditions for the May 2019 Talent Show will be held on one day only, Saturday, April 13, 2019. Please save the date, as no other auditions will take place - no exceptions. On this day, the auditions will start early in the morning and will continue through the afternoon as needed. Sign-up forms have been distributed by the homeroom teachers and need to be turned into Ms. Lopez no later than March 22, 2019.


The Snack Shack will be open EVERYDAY AFTER SCHOOL from 3:00 -3:45 p.m. We sell Drinks, Food, Snacks and more!! Please help support our 8th graders going on the Washington D.C. trip. We are located outside the Gym underneath the stairs.


If your child brings a medical note from either a parent or a physician restricting them from P.E. or sports, it is very important that students bring the note to the Office first thing in the morning. It is important for the Office to know if there are health issues at the beginning of the school day.
