ANAISA MOTA-RAMIREZ, 7-W, AND THE SCRIPPS REGIONAL SPELLING BEE

Ms. Wampler and Ms. Lopez had the pleasure of attending the Scripps Regional Spelling Bee in North Hollywood on Saturday, March 7, 2020. Anaisa Mota-Ramirez, 7-W, represented our school incredibly well. She made it up to round #6 where she was one of 15 spellers out of the starting 130 spellers. Since St. Mark's has been participating in the Bee, nobody has come this far. We are immensely proud of Anaisa, her confidence, courage, and poise. The round 4 word that she spelled correctly was floruit, and her 5th round word was macropterous. Congratulations, Anaisa!

SPORTS UPDATE: MARCH 10, 2020

The 8th grade boys fell to Shield of Faith in the League Championship game.  The Lions held a small lead at halftime, but struggled offensively in the third quarter being outscored 5-15, allowing Shield of Faith to take that momentum into the fourth quarter and the eventual win. The girls also lost the League Championship. The game was tied at halftime 8-8, however the Lions solid defensive efforts throughout the game were not enough to overcome their struggles in scoring the basketball. Emmaus went on to win 20-12.  Thank you to all the parents for your support as drivers, fans, and snack providers throughout the season.
